Mr. Robert J. Sanchez - Director of Bands
Mr. Sanchez began teaching at Elgin High School in 2015, additionally he teaches at Larsen Middle School and Ellis Middle School supporting those programs. Prior to his appointment at Elgin High School, Mr. Sanchez was the Director of Bands at Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox, IL. Mr. Sanchez started his career in 2005 as the Lead Director of Band at Tucson Performing Arts Magnet High School.
Mr. Sanchez has always specialized in a balanced approach to teaching band having equal focus in Marching, Concert and Jazz Ensembles. Mr. Sanchez's teaching responsibilities have included: Directing Curricular, Co-Curricular and Extra Curricular Band. Directing Multiple Jazz Ensembles, Competitive and Non-competitive Marching Band, Athletic Bands for Football, Basketball, Volleyball and Hockey.
Mr. Sanchez received his Bachelor of Music from the University of Arizona in 2005. He received his Master of Music in Performance from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where he studied Wind Band Conducting in Thomas G. Leslie and Anthony LaBounty.
Mr. Sanchez lives in Romeoville, IL with his wife, Two Kids, and four pets.
Coach Megan Guindon - Color Guard/ Winter Guard
Megan Guindon has been the color guard coach at Elgin High School for the past 5 years. She is also the color guard at Streamwood High School. Megan graduated from Streamwood High School in 2007 where she was on guard there all 4 years of high school. She then attended Northern Illinois University and was apart of the Huskie Marching Band Color Guard for 3 years. During her time at NIU, she traveled to Louisiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Canada for performances. Megan is currently a 3rd grade teacher at St. John the Evangelist in Streamwood. Megan and her husband got married in 2017 and he is the head football coach at Streamwood High School. Megan also Choreographed the Combined U-46 Color Guard that participated in the U-46 Unified Marching Band.
